- Welcome to SRAU! What attracted you to the organisation?
Thanks – great to be here! My first intro to SMART was through Launch Housing in Melbourne, I was counselling people experiencing homelessness in Southbank and some colleagues were running SMART Recovery groups at night, I joined in and loved the approach and program. Meeting Dan, Ange and Ryan during the interview process last month I knew I fit right in and we could do some great work together.
- What are you most looking forward to about your time here?
Contribution and impact. This project amalgamates several passion and skill areas for me personally and professionally and I get the sense that working with such great people we are going to come up with some awesome ideas and enjoy making them happen.
- If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
Maybe a snow leopard crossed with a quetzal? I would love to be able to fly.
- Obviously this is the best place to work. What’s the weirdest job or work experience you’ve had, and why?
How about suctioning water and debris out of the mouths of folks pretending they were fine and relaxed while their curling fingers and toes suggested differently? That’s the weirdest way I can describe dental nursing but it was actually a great job.
