As a long term partner and provider of SMART Recovery, we continue to see the positive change that people engaged with the program can bring to their lives
SMART Recovery groups facilitate a community of positive change and can help break that sense of isolation and loneliness.
SMART Recovery groups offer a non-judgmental and supportive environment for participants to gain mutual support and develop strategies to help them achieve their chosen behaviour change goal/s.

SMART Recovery provides self help groups for people struggling with serious alcohol and drugs problems. It’s a great way for clinical services to assist people to get back on their feet while fully recognising their autonomy and meeting people where they’re at.

Most frequent questions and answers
Monthly direct debit from the date of the original payment. For example, if a package is purchased on the 9th, it’ll direct debited on the 9th of each month.
You are welcome to cancel your subscription at any time. However, you will cease to receive the ongoing subscription benefits.
Subscriptions are priced based on the number of ACTIVE facilitators within an organisation. Active facilitators are people who are actually facilitating SMART Recovery meetings. If someone has done SMART Recovery Facilitator training but is not facilitating a SMART meeting, they are not counted towards your subscription package. However, if someone is a relief facilitator and only facilitates a meeting periodically, they are still required to be counted towards your organisation’s subscription package.
Organisations are billed by the number of active facilitators. The people assigned to the subscription can change at any time. It’s only when the total number of active facilitators changes, pushing an organisation into a different pricing bracket, that monthly charges change. This can change month to month. For example, an organisation who has two facilitators pays $39 that month, but if one more staff member starts facilitating meetings, they will be charged $79 the following monthly billing cycle.
If you’d prefer not to subscribe, that’s OK. We won’t be able to provide you with access to all the benefits that subscribers get, and you won’t be able to run a SMART meeting or use any of our intellectual property (including our name, logo, and branded materials). You are still more than welcome to attend our training events.
From February 1, 2020, all organisations running a SMART meeting will be required to become SMART Recovery subscribers, paying a annual or monthly subscription fee to use our intellectual property and to take advantage of our resources.
In order for SMART Recovery Australia to continue providing meetings to those who need them free of charge, we need to become more financially sustainable. On top of that, it’s vital to us that we offer an unparalleled level of service to our facilitators and partner organisations. We need to charge a little more so we can do a lot more.
