SMART Recovery is Looking for New Board Members | SMART Recovery Australia

Written by smart recovery | Sep 08, 2017

SMART Recovery Australia is seeking two committed, value-oriented Non-Executive Directors. We are looking for people who want to address addiction and mental health issues through harm minimisation and a strength based approach. Your skills and experience should further complement those of the current talented staff and Directors of the team.

SMART Recovery Australia is seeking Directors who are willing to use their own capacity and that of their networks to deliver the strategic aims of the organisation. We are particularly targeting candidates with high-level PR skills and experience, access to high net worth individuals interested in supporting the sustainable growth of the organisation, and access to the Alcohol and Other Drugs/mental health sector, business, or government.

The SMART Recovery Board focuses on the strategic oversight of the organisation. It does not undertake the responsibilities of a management board. The organisation may employ the individual skills of individual Directors from time to time, which would be separate to their role on the SMART Recovery Australia Board.

The bi-monthly board meetings run for no longer than two hours. These can be attended in person or online. Your overall time commitment is estimated at six to eight hours per month. There is an annual staff and Board planning day you would be expected to attend.

The SMART Recovery Australia office is in Woollomooloo, Sydney.
